Quick practice on color/texture stuff. Drawing cars typically doesn’t make sense to me, but I still went for it here. Granted it is only a small glimpse but it’ll do. I kind of went overboard on some of these textures, and the coloring is not something you would normally see from me. Regardless I think where this ended up was a test worthwhile. Mainly trying to keep myself drawing one thing or another over here.

Here’s that page I made up a number of months ago that has been sitting in limbo for a bit. Finally remembered to scan it in and put it up.

I’ve worked through a couple pages after this, and am thinking this page here is a standalone. The other panels are coming out in a different manner and frankly I like the new direction more.

-Also the best hand I’ve drawn. Even if that nail is a little wonky.

Might be reworking this one a bit over the next day or so. Can’t...

Might be reworking this one a bit over the next day or so. Can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve really done anything like this. Almost like riding a bike, just need to remember where everything is. Nearly 6 months without delving into a project, but damn does it feel good even though it was a little trying. The fire reignited & burning brightly.

Feels great to stay up until 3am working with brushes and trying to figure out new techniques. As the weather continues to get better, I’ll be finding myself inside more with my cats on my lap and a brush in hand.

Oh yeah I used yellow on this, that never happens. Trying to break the standard color palette.

Hollow Eyes - Record Label:

Part of these projects I’ve alluded too includes starting a very small “label” to put out my own solo tunes and friends of mine.

It will be nice to establish an identity for the project which I’ve dubbed Hollow Eyes. A secondary creative outlet if you will. Including some larger scale projects down the road. Right now with starting a new job and getting this rolling I hope to have tons of new illustration work to show on top of everything else.

This is an upcoming release of mine due out by mid-April. Still...

This is an upcoming release of mine due out by mid-April. Still some things to iron out, but I’ve grown increasingly excited by this stuff.

A lot of the recent projects I’m involved with revolve around the other world of music. Including a handful of releases I will be designing/producing.

The illustration edge of this is all still strong, but I still need to rebuild my studio a bit.

I have been back in Cleveland just over a week now & have enjoyed catching up with buddies and seeing new additions to the city. Also lots of new work waiting to be scanned in and completed, which will be happening within the coming week.

This flyer is a quick exercise seeing as half my keyboard no longer works and using Photoshop is damn near impossible. Lots of new developments and projects in the works right now. All of which will be rolling out in the next few weeks.

As it goes, when I say there will be more updates and projects going full force. I find myself in a situation where all this is put on hold. This being I am now moving back to Cleveland in less than two weeks. Flying my best buddy out to the desert for a three day vacation and a triple debut show at the house. Followed by a two day/36 hour mash back to Cleveland with my brother/two cats & my junk.

Setting up shop and going to plow throw all these projects in my isolation chamber. Trying to finally find & create something that speaks what I may cryptically be broadcasting, but isn’t picked upon by anyone with a normal cranium crank.

Which brings me to this image which is a quick whip-up of a flyer for the send off of madman and the triple debut. My “apparent” music project Dancing Dust will make its first nerve-wracking appearance onto an audience.

Regardless my mind is set on making these ideas a reality, and I’m trying to put myself into a situation where it’s easier on everyone.

Here is the unofficial first half of the first page of this graphic novel. Still need to scan into the computer and add other layers of textures/shadows, but right now I’m on the third case of Modelo since I’ve tackled this project head on at the beginning of the week and I’m trying to get as much physical work done as possible.

I can hardly begin to describe the shit hole I allow myself to work in, but I will try more so for my own well being. The floor littered with paper scraps, ideas, and beer. My drafting table has been broken since its purchase and has only gotten worse with each use. It threatens to collapse on me whenever I work at it Which only leads to more problems such as ink containers sliding down and spilling onto the table and my nearly finished work. Also the light table without the glass leading to brushing lines on a rounded light bulb.

Regardless I’m relieved to have actually begun to follow through on some of these ideas in my head. I intend on updating this thing more regularly with my ramblings/cat pictures & more illustrations. Also as a side note I’m operating solely by phone so excuse bad typing & what have you.
